It's STILL Paradise. A little cold yes, a bit rough absolutely, but it's "still better then Chicago". I was at the shower and a gentleman and I struck up a conversation. I knew he was not from here based on the discussion we were having. We "locals" never miss the opportunity to ask visitors where they are from. "Chicago" he said. "Aha!" I said, "You are one of those people I make fun of every day". To explain, I never take for granted the blessing of being able to live here. My favorite saying is "not a bad backyard, just think of those poor folks living in Chicago or new York or Minnesota right now". He laughed and agreed.
Yesterday it was a BIG ocean. It was literally like being thrown into a washing machine. I had to punch my way all the way out, (one stroke forward three backwards) but got pushed all the way back in. Rough, rough rough. Linda did not swim, so it was just me and the "Cow Man". Locals know who that is...an Ironman who wears big horns on his head when he runs the Ironman. He is a BIG guy. Not to many others out there just a few other die hards (or just plain foolish perhaps?)
The visibility was spectacular, so rough is OK with me. I will take rough over no vis (which is rare here).
It was much calmer today and spectacular visibility again but NOTHING big even came close to us! Oh well, it's still paradise.
Just for something to "show and tell today", I have attached photos of Sharks. If you want the whole meal deal, here is the link to witness for yourself swimming with the great whites off Guadalupe Island 200 miles west of Ensanada Mexico. One of those bucket list things for me.
Let's pray for something big to show up tomorrow!
A Hui Hou
