ALOT OF LUV HAPPENING OUT THERE!

Regattas

Dolphins doing what they do

That's a cookie cutter shark bite.
Is this guy CUTE or what (the dog that is)?

WHEW. It has been along time since I have had a chance to catch up. I have been working on our new website. The beta version is out now, so check it out.  HTTP://www.konatraveler.com. We will be continually adding more photos and travel deals for travel to Kona. Bookmark it, and check back. There are also some deals to win free air travel and accommodations to Kona. We would LOVE your feedback and comments to make it a better site for everyone to enjoy.

The water has been AMAZING! Warm and clear and clear and warm. All those fair weather folks who had been hibernating all winter have re-a appeared. Lightweights. A lot of swim-meets, Ironman pre-qualifiers and outrigger canoe regattas.  A busy waterfront.

I have been through two cameras since my last blog, that’s a whole book within itself, but now have another new one, so I am back taking pictures.

The dolphins are in LUV! It has been "Oops, can we have some privacy here"? So wonderful to see them interacting. Babies on the way! ;o)

It has been frustrating off the pier because the big boats like Body Glove have gotten into a bad habit of herding the dolphins. They run their boat in a continual loop over the top of them so that their customers can get a first hand view. That is a BIG FORMIDABLE boat, to be running all over the top of the dolphins. I always say you don’t swim with the dolphins, they swim with you. With this HUGE twin hull boat, hovering over their every move, it gets quite distressing not only for the dolphins but for the swimmers in the water with the dolphins.  It’s all about the dollar I guess. Anyway enough politics.

I have seen lots of cuttle fish, a few manta rays, but mostly dolphins almost everyday. Good time for airfares and accommodation prices on the Big Island (and to swim with the dolphins)!

Enjoy,and I'll be back soon I promise!
